Fit is MUCH more important in heels than in mens' shoes! You get a pair that fits right, you will be right at home. And practice practice practice. And be sure you can go backwards...
I imagine it depends on what the pair is for. Work, play, fashion, etc. Should they be broken in, or saved for that special occasion? I feign ignorance. Purely visual.
